Red Octane has recently officially announced their anticipated Guitar Hero sequel for the Xbox 360. The 360 version of Guitar Hero II will come with it´s own specifically designed wireless-guitar-controller, the X-plorer, modelled on the Gibson Explorer.
Excited by the announcement, Red Octane´s Head of Publishing Dusty Welsh commented, ”With it´s large integrated hard drive, Xbox 360 provides an incredible platform for facilitating downloadable content.” He continued, ”We believe there is no better title to feature micro-transactions than a music game like Guitar Hero II, where the content is the basis of your experience. The relationship with the Xbox Live Marketplace creates endless possibilities for exclusive content.”
Guitar Hero II is to be released for the Playstation 2 this holiday season. However, the 360 version´s release date remains unclear, so there still is time to grow your hair out for some moshing action. Guitar Hero II, as well as the X-plorer, will be present on the ongoing X06 showfloor in Barcelona. So expect to hear more soon.
