Indeed these are good times for hardcore rock fans if you also happen to own an Xbox 360. Activision, publisher of Guitar Hero II, has announced that, in addition to the 64 tracks of the PS2 version, ten new tracks will be made available exclusively for the Xbox 360 version. To give you a sample of what´s in store, here are a few examples:
Billion Dollar Babies (Alice Cooper)
Hush (Deep Purple)
Dead! (My Chemical Romance)
Life Wasted (Pearl Jam)
Rock n Roll Hoochie Koo (Rick Derringer)
As if the exclusive ten tracks weren´t enough, 12 more will be available for download via Xbox Marketplace at release.
Netsite SPOnG claimed that the Achievements of Guitar Hero II will include for example the Eddie Van Halen award (get a 500 note streak), Perfectionist (get 100 % on a song) and the Rock Snob award (refuse to play an encore). They are also worked up about a rumor concerning possible distortion pedals for the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero. It´s still only a wild rumor though, but it would certainly be a dream come true for wannabe guitar heroes and heroines.
Guitar Hero II will be released later this spring.
