The gaming site Firing Squad queried id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead about their future plans for Xbox Live Arcade.
The promising response hinted towards future classic title releases. ”We´re looking at bringing some of the other games to XLA, but a lot is going to depend on the response to DOOM. From what MS tells us, its been fantastic so far, which bodes well for other id ”classics” to be released there. But there´s nothing concrete. Making the surprise announcement at X06 for DOOM worked out great, so I´ll be tight lipped about anything specific for now.
id Software is known first and foremost for their classic IP´s, especially their (then) groundbraking FPS-titles from Wolfenstein 3D to the Doom and Quake series, as publisher id also owns the rights to the Heretic and HeXen games.
As all seems to be going well for id´s Doom Live Arcade release, expect to hear more news on upcoming nostalgia doses in the not-so-distant future.
