The 2006 World Cyber Games Grand Final will be kicking off in a few days in Monza, Italy. Held in Europe for the first time, the festival will bring together 700 gamers from 70 countries in a 5-day long celebration of game culture. The festivities begin on October the 18th. The games will continue until the 22nd.
The WCG tournament is officially opened by StarCraft: Blood War match. Festival participants will be tretated with all sorts of curiosities such as sumowrestling and an international food court. Xbox 360 games include Dead or Alive 4 and Project Gotham Racing 3.
Hyoung-seok Kim, CEO of International Cyber Marketing (ICM), the organizer of WCG stated: ”As the premier worldwide e-Sport festival for a generation, the WCG has become a pioneer in growing e-Sports as a spectator event over the years. This year will generate even more momentum for the gaming competition by featuring real-time satellite broadcasting of the tournament as well as multiple Internet broadcasts in English, Italian, Chinese, and Korean.”
